We spent the first part of the morning biking the Colonial Parkway…it a yearly function where they close down the parkway between Jamestown and Williamsburg it 19 miles roundtrip, with no vehicle traffic allowed, biking, running and walkers only.
After our bike adventure we walked about 4 blocks into Colonial Williamsburg. It a great place to visit if you have not been. We actually never bought the tickets to go inside any of the buildings, we thought 40 dollars per person was too much to spend. You can walk the entire place and get s great sense of how it must have been back in the day.
They also had shops to visit and Taverns and Pubs serving food from back in the day. We actually ate at one of them in town and had the best clam chowder.
After lunch, we went back up to midtown so we could watch the parade and catch some more activity going on in the rest of the town.
It definitely was a great day, and the weather was amazing. We continue to chase that 75 degrees weather and so far it working..
Even had time to get a selfie with one of The Blue Coat men….
Next stop Washington DC….
